Core Link broke roll cutter saves pulpers

Core Link, Inc., Bloomfield, CT, says its patent-pending broke roll cutter eliminates  the high levels of wear in the pulper caused by large batches of paper being dumped into it in one lump. Instead, the roll cutter feeds the pulper with an even flow of paper.

It also overcomes problems of hydraulics leaking into the pulper leading to a fire hazard, allows cores to be re-used and handles a wide range of paper grades.

In operation, the cutter cuts the paper in layers and feeds them evenly into the pulper. The paper dissolves faster, says Core Link, resulting in less wear and tear on the pulper smaller units can be used , fewer blockages, lower maintenance costs and less down-time.
