Heavy duty parallel shaft speed reducers

Bonfiglioli, Concord, Ont, has introduced a brand new series of HDP (Heavy Duty Parallel Shaft) speed reducers to 146,500 in. lb to the pulp and paper market. The HDP series represents the latest in gear manufacturing technology and has resulted in a product with torque density at record levels.

The power density of this new generation has been significantly increased. The largest model now available is the HDP 90.

The basic advantages of this new series are: record torque density; top performance with high reliability. The four models now available are rated: 41,150, 57,960, 101,775 and 146,500 in lbs. They are currently in 2 or 3 stages with ratios from 7:1 to 112:1

Bonfiglioli parallel shaft speed reducers With a foot or flange configuration, with hollow shaft for slot and keyway, the new HDP units can be mounted to satisfy applications in mixing, stirring, conveying or lifting.

The spectrum of machines range from pumps to crushers; whether for mining, heavy conveyors, or pulp & paper applications, these geared units offer significant advantages.

In terms of the motor, the options of a full shaft in metric or inch measurements are available, as is the case for direct motor attachment, which then continues as a “unit” to have the advantage of being a compact geared component. In terms of output drive, either single or double full shafts in various designs, hollow drives with a slot and key and designs with a shrink fit coupling are in the program. A number of flange variations supplement the direct transmission options.

The list of options for the series of new parallel shaft gears include; oil cooling and heating, as are heavy duty bearings and back stops.

Bonfiglioli is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of motors, gearmotors, planetary gearmotors, variable speed drives and hydrostatic drives.
