Cascades mill first with FSC Recycled certification in Canada

Cascades Fine Papers Group’s "green mill" in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec, has received the Forest Stewardship Council certification of FSC Recycled. Cascades says the certification authenticates that the mill’s product has a 100% post-consumer content, taking the whole process into account, from the raw material to the consumers.

Denis Jean, the Group’s president and CEO, noted that the mill is the first and only Canadian fine paper manufacturer to be awarded the FSC Recycled Certification.

"It is the result of outstanding teamwork between the management team of the mill in Saint-Jérôme and the team at the de-inking mill in Breakeyville, whose pulp is also certified FSC Recycled," he said.

FSC Recycled certified products are New Life DP100, Rolland Enviro100, Rolland Enviro Edition100 and Rolland Inspiration Ecofibre. They are available on making orders under certain conditions.

Cascades fine papers line includes other products with various levels of post-consumer content up to 100%. Many papers produced by Cascades are also certified EcoLogo (ECP-77) from Environment Canada’s Environmental Choice Program and PCF from the Chlorine Free Product Association (CFPA).
