Peterson introduces the1700D horizontal grinder
Eugene, OR-based Peterson Pacific Corp.has introduced its 1700D horizontalgrinder. “The new-1700D is smaller andlighter than our other grinder’s, but stillpacks impressive performance. The 1700Dis ideal for small mulch, compost, or palletgrinding operations, as well as municipalities looking for a smaller machine, but stillneeding excellent throughput for a grinderof this size” said Jody Volner, president ofPeterson Pacific Corp.
Heavy duty and mobile, the 1700D canreduce a wide range of materials. The largefeed opening, measures 54 x 27 in. (137 x69 cm). When boosted by Peterson’s high-lift feed roll, the feed opening’s maximumlift of 41.5 in. (105 cm) can tackle the largestof feedstock and allows excellent accessibility to the rotor for maintenance.
The 1700D has a Caterpillar Tier IV C9.3455 hp (433 kW) engine or an optional, export-only C9 Tier III, 350 hp (261 kW) engine. At 41,000 lb (18 597 kg), it is thelightest of Peterson’s grinders and is easilytransportable.
Peterson’s adaptive control system, featuring fully adjustable feed, is optimized fora wide range of materials. The 1700D control panel features a large display that provides the operator with complete engine andsystem parameters to simplify set-up and efficiently operate the unit. A feature uniqueto its horizontal grinders is Peterson’spatented impact release system to protectthe machine against ungrindable materials.
The 1700D horizontal grinder’s quick-change multiple-grate system makes it easyto customize grate configurations. Gratesare removed through an easy-access door onthe side wall. With the patented up-turnrotor, heavy-duty bits and robust anvil, the1700D offers exceptional wear life and accurate product sizing.
The 1700D horizontal grinder is also Peterson+enabled. This new remote monitoring solution provides machine owners accessto real-time and historical data of their machine’s performance and location.
