Hytrol receives 15th patent fornew approach to conveyors

Jonesboro, AR-based Hytrol Conveyor Co., Inc. received its 15th patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office for its zoned accumulation conveyor withelectrical actuator.

Patent No. 10,081,492 was awarded to employeesDavid O’Brien, Joshua Eversoll, Cole Prince, GregoryBauders, Joseph Pillow and Boyce Bonham for theirwork on the electric narrow belt accumulator (NBEZ),which Hytrol says is the first all-electric narrow beltaccumulation conveyor on the market.

The NBEZ does not use pneumatics, pressurizedair, to start and stop the flow of products, which is customary with most accumulation conveyors. The patentcovers the design of the modules that work by utilizingmagnets to engage or disengage the belt and rollers tocreate flow or accumulate product.
