Valmet cooking, fiberline, recaust and lime kiln for Naini Papers, India

Valmet will deliver the key process technology for a new cooking, fiberline and recausticizing plant, as well as a new lime kiln, atNaini Papers’ mill in India. The new plant isexpected to produce about 100 kt/y ofbleached hardwood pulp, with start-up scheduled for 1Q20.

While the value of the orders was not disclosed, Valmet said that a typical value forsuch projects is about €20-25 million.

The batch cooking and fiberline deliveryincludes a digester plant consisting of threeconical bottom digesters, and a fiberline composed of seven Valmet TwinRoll presses,screen room, MC pumps, mixers and towerscrapers, as well as the basic engineering andsite services. The recausticizing delivery includes an OptiDisc™ WL.

The long wet-lime kiln design capacity is200 t/d; it has a chain system for drying thelime mud inside the kiln. The kiln’s burnersystem is designed to fire either producer gasin combination with furnace oil or fire 100%furnace oil. The producer gas is a low-temperature, low-grade gas produced in a coalgasifier.

Naini Papers Ltd., started in 1995, is oneof the few premier paper manufacturing facilities in India. It offers high-quality writingand printing papers with improved physicaland optical properties.

The Naini mill has a modern wet-washingsystem, continuous digester, oxygen de-lignification plant and multi-stage bleaching.
