Arvia Nyex offers chemical-sludge-free water treatment

Arvia Technology Ltd., based in Runcorn, Cheshire, England, has developed a modular water treatment solution, free of chemical dosing and without the generation of sludge.

The Nyex™ system combines absorption and electrochemical oxidation in a single scalable unit. Contaminants are concentrated on the surface of the proprietary Nyex media which is nonporous and has high electrical conductivity. A low electrical current is passed through the media bed which allows for targeted and continuous oxidation. The continuous process reduces the chemical oxygen demand (COD) of wastewater streams to compliant levels of 50-30 mg/L COD at a lower cost when compared with traditional AOPS.

The low-maintenance Nyex system can be scaled to respond to shifting regulations and requires minimal manpower and training to operate. It can be applied as a stand-alone treatment process or retrofitted to the end of an existing waste-water treatment train, giving complete flexibility on how the system is integrated.
