Nalco Water introduces Ultis Dry2 Strength technology for pulp, paper

Naperville, IL-based Nalco Water has introduced Ultis Dry2 Strength Technology, a dry-format additive to help improve the strength and runnability of paper products, reduce total cost of operation and enhance supply chain sustainability.

“Ultis Dry² Strength Technology will help our customers meet growing market demand for stronger, lighter boxes while increasing the efficiency and safety of their operations,” said Luis G. E. Pereira, SVP and GM of Global Paper for Nalco Water.

The Ultis Dry² Strength Technology helps to improve paper strength quality specifications and on-machine efficiency while reducing raw material variability. Nalco Water says the technology also provides additional fiber and energy savings, and improves the effectiveness of other additives, with increased retention levels.

The dry product platform allows for safer handling, longer shelf life and reduces the supply chain carbon footprint. The lighter and more compact dry platform can reduce transportation needs by up to 90% compared to alternative liquid dry strengths used in paperboard manufacturing.
