Omnova to close Green Bay SB facility

Beachwood, OH-based Omnova Solutions will close its Green Bay, WI, production facility. The site, which makes styrene butadiene (SB) emulsions, will continue operation for the next 9-12 months to ensure an orderly transition of production to the facility in Mogadore, OH.

“We remain committed to serving the specialty paper and carpet industries as well as the many other specialty applications that use styrene butadiene emulsions,” said Anne Noonan, president and CEO. “Our Mogadore facility has the full complement of technical and production capabilities to meet our customers’ needs with the highest levels of technical and service excellence.”

The company said the Green Bay closure is because of the continued decline of the paper market and is another step in its continued transition to a specialty solutions company. The plant opened in 1993.
