Andritz to refurbish TMP dewatering equipment at Hallsta de-inking plant

Andritz, Graz, Austria, has an order from Holmen Paper, a part of the Holmen Group, Sweden, to refurbish and install dewatering equipment for a new TMP washing stage on PM 12 in Hallstavik.

Basic engineering, erection, commissioning and start-up are part of the delivery which is scheduled for the final quarter of 2018.

Andritz will refurbish two used Andritz twin-wire presses and relocate and overhaul an existing Andritz pulp screw press formerly used in the Hallsta de-inking plant. The aim is that, after re-installation as the TMP washing stage, the dewatering equipment will improve pulp quality thus ensuring higher product quality on the paper machine. PM12 manufactures book paper and newsprint grades.

As well, a new conveyor will be installed for pulp dilution and shredding after washing and two existing screw conveyors will be relocated and rebuilt. The Hallsta mill has relied on Andritz dewatering technology for many years. After completion of this project, it will be operating 14 Andritz twin-wire presses.
