Pilz offers machine safety

Pilz Automation Safety Canada LP, Barrie, ON, says that its machine safety lifecycle helps manufacturers of tissue and paper to achieve machine safety goals.

For dangerous interventions with machines, for example after a paper break or a re-threading, special safeguard systems are required such as controlling crawl speeds, fixed guards, "hold to run” or prestart alarms. Pilz will design the right solution for a mill based on a risk assessment and safety concept.

By the interpretation and application of relevant safety protocols, Pilz guarantees that a mill’s machines will meet statutory requirements and work efficiently.

The company is the Canadian branch of Pilz GmbH & Co. KG, Ostfildern, Germany.

The Pilz product line includes safety relays for automation applications, safety PLCs, motion control systems, lockout/tagout systems, monitoring relays, rugged touch screen HMIs, emergency stop pushbuttons, safety sensors, twohand enabling devices, electromechanical safety switches, light curtains, muting lamps, and Safety- EYE which Pilz says is the world’s first safe camera system for 3-D zone monitoring.
