BIM Kemi remoBright improves recycling process

BIM Kemi Sweden AB, Stenkullen, has developed RemoBright, a surface-modified magnesium silicate hydrate designed to offset some of the problems using alkaline processes in deinking. Such problems include pulp darkening, brightness reversion, dewatering problems, the generation of stickies and wood extractives, increased COD loads and scaling.

BIM says that RemoBright trials have shown that its benefits include better optical properties, improved drainage and energy consumption, lower COD and fewer stickies.
